A bottle is a bottle.
Until you change the shape, the material, the lid, the proportion, or the scale.
Until you place it beside something else.
Until you change the light, the surface, or the environment around it.
Suddenly, it feels different.

This is what I’m interested in when I think about visual language — the way individual decisions begin to communicate something together.
The shape of the glass says something.
The warmth of the wood says something.
The weight and proportion say something.
The space around it says something.
The way it is photographed says something.
None of these elements exist independently.
They influence one another.
I started photographing these bottles as a small study in that idea. The bottles themselves are simple, but they each carry a different character. Some feel soft and organic. Some feel refined. Some feel grounded. Some feel more minimal or architectural.
Put two together and a new relationship appears.
Change the environment and the feeling changes again.

On sand, the same object feels connected to landscape. Against bark, it becomes earthy and tactile. Against tile, it starts to feel graphic and considered. On a blank surface, its shape becomes the focus.
The object hasn’t necessarily changed. The context has.
And that context is part of the design.
This is also how I think about brands.
I’m interested in the space between what something is and how it feels to encounter it.
Who is it for?
What is it saying without words?
What should it make someone feel?
What materials, shapes, images, colours and environments support that feeling?
How do those elements behave together?
For me, visual identity isn’t about finding one beautiful thing and putting a logo on it.

It’s about creating a world with its own visual language.
A collection of choices that feel connected enough to belong together, but distinct enough to have their own personality.
Because when the pieces begin to speak to one another, something shifts.
It becomes less about what you’re looking at —
and more about what it feels like to be there.
